First date is always nerve wrecking. What do you say? How do you act? Do you have broccoli on your teeth? There’s so much to worry about. Sorry if that doesn’t sound reassuring, but it’s the truth. Despite that, all the mistakes you can make can be made up with a pleasant and engaging conversation.
Don’t Talk About The Following Topics On Your First Date
Interesting conversation can be the problem though because what to talk about is one of the things that worry you. Well, let’s just start with topics or statements that you should avoid to keep things simple.
If you’re going to talk about your ex negatively, make sure that you’re just doing it with your friends. This is beyond inappropriate for a first date topic. You don’t want your date to think that you’re bitter and that you carry a lot of excess baggage with you.
By being rude to waiters, bartenders, and other servers, you’re not showing your first date that you’re confident. You’re showing her that you’re rude. Confidence has nothing to do with being overly arrogant and disrespectful.
The Football Game
Rarely you will find a woman who is as excited about sports as you. If you’re on a first date with one who is, that’s fantastic, but if not, do not bring up the basketball, football, or baseball game you watched last week. Don’t explain why it was the most epic game of the season. You’ll just bore her. Move on to another topic instead.
Your Financial Worries
If you’re out of work currently, that can be a problem because your date will ask, sooner or later, what your job is. Simply rephrase it. Tell her something like you’re currently in between jobs. That’s a white lie, but gentlemen, please understand that women are attracted to men who are ambitious, passionate and full of potential.
Give Your Mouth A Rest
Last but not the least is shutting your mouth. Sometimes, saying nothing is the best thing to do. Listen to your date and give her a chance to tell her story. Women love it when men listen. Don’t just fake it too! Actively listen to what she has to say and react to it to make an engaging and interactive.
