Why Chill Dating Is Something You Should Avoid

If you have never heard of chill dating, that’s fine. But, almost every one of us has experienced it. This type of dating happens when you don’t put a lot of effort (or maybe no effort at all) to seeing someone romantically. You just go with the flow, and whatever happens, happens.

Chill Dating Won’t Work When Finding True Love

In today’s dating scene, there are so many people who just go chill dating. There’s no purpose, there’s no end goal, and there’s no direction. For some, the word “chill” can be related to a person who is very easy-going and has a relaxed attitude. That’s not bad, so to speak, but never when it comes to a relationship for the following reasons:

1. It Gives Off The Impression That You Are Not Interested

Are you really interested in your date? Well, a person who is will usually act a certain way. Sure, some may just be relaxed about it, but not to the point of being too non-responsive. If you are truly interested in someone, you should be showing it to let them know.

2. Do You Want To Label The Relationship?

Most likely, those who are chill dating don’t want to label the relationship, This is absolutely fine if you want to just be friends or if you want to have a hook-up situation, but if you want to be with someone long-term, then chill dating and not labeling the relationship will not be ideal.

3. Chill Dating Doesn’t Give Security

Since the relationship is not labeled, the person you’re seeing will never have that sense of security with you or with where you are headed together. That is if you go for chill dating. Even if it isn’t your intention, you’re still going to make your date feel confused.

If you want to find a serious relationship, you have to be more purposeful about it. Definitely, when you want to find someone serious, you have to be more hands-on about your approach to dating. If you just want to date casually, then it’s fine, but chill dating is never going to work when it comes to finding true love. For more dating and relationship tips, read other posts on the blog.
